A campus within the West Virginia University system, WVU Tech is committed to helping students discover a future of infinite possibilities. Founded in 1895 as the Montgomery Preparatory School, WVU Tech has a rich history of academic excellence.
We offer more than 40 different academic programs and 81 percent of our 1,222 enrolled students receive some form of financial aid. When they’re not busy studying fields such as engineering, criminal justice, nursing, computer science or forensic investigation.
WVU Tech consists of two academic colleges: the College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences and the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences. WVU Tech offers more than 40 academic programs, including 8 ABET-accredited engineering programs. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1 and an average class size of 17 students, our classes provide students with personalized attention in a supportive environment.
With more than 30 student organizations, including academic honor societies, Greek life, and intramurals, WVU Tech offers a vibrant campus life. On-campus residents live in one of two co-ed residence halls: Ratliff Hall and Maclin Hall.
